Given the current situation in regards to COVID-19 virus, Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa has implemented enhanced standards of operating procedures (SOPs) in view of providing clinical levels of cleanliness at our resorts. These SOPs have also taken into consideration the guidelines set by World Health Organisation (WHO) and the local Tourism Authority:

These measures include the following:

• The cleaning of surface areas with recommended disinfectants and deep cleaning procedures for guests’ rooms, restaurants, spa, gym, lobby and all public areas.
• The implementation of protocols for guests, suppliers, employees and contractors and sanitisation guidelines to minimise transmission risks and cater for the social distancing requirements. Sanitizers have been placed in guests’ rooms and public areas while flyers on precautionary measures have been displayed in rooms, public areas and on employees notice boards.
• Food safety; the display of food at the buffet, the handling, processing and disposal of food to avoid cross-contamination, the sanitisation of kitchen utensils among others.
• Training guidelines for our employees at all levels.
• We are also considering the use of technology in view of minimising contact with surfaces and hotel staff.

What is the protocol if a guest is suspected to have the virus at the resort?

As per local sanitary protocols, villas have been pre-designated as isolation rooms for suspected COVID-19 cases, with limited staff access. The concerned health and safety authorities will be informed should this situation arise. For further information, please click here.

I am due to travel to Mauritius, should I still come?

Of course. Mauritius has been recognised as a safe travel destination by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). The successful outcome for our island can be attributed to the fact that the government put in place a series of stringent measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

Effective as from 12 March 2022, guests travelling to Mauritius will no longer have to carry out a PCR test at least 72 hours prior to travel. A rapid antigen test will be carried out upon check-in at the resort. Unvaccinated passengers will be subject to 7 days auto isolation.
